Set up in 2001, the .NAME gTLD is the only one supposed to be for personal web pages only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other designations people are popular by. Initially, only third-level registrations were allowed, so if you planned to secure john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already bought third-level domain names remained active.

You will be able to update the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our company if you receive its EPP transfer code from the current domain provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been finalized. There are no special restrictions on who can book a .NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the objective behind its creation alive, the Registry may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
